It was a truly epic winter ski season at that, record breaking for Northstar, Lake Tahoe, and beyond. But as the snow trails start receding, and hiking and biking trails start appearing, it's time to get ready for summer. So to help stoke the excitement for summer around North Lake Tahoe, get a glimpse below of what's happening at Northstar California this summer. (See the full calendar of Northstar summer events here.)
Wine Walks (June 24, July 29, August 26)
Join us the last Saturday of every summer month for an alpine-style wine walk set against the stunning Sierras from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Pick up a souvenir tasting glass before weaving throughout the Village shops while sipping wine and snacking on paired hors d’oeuvres.
Brewmaster’s Dinner Series (July 2 & September 3)
Northstar California’s Executive Chef Steve Anderson partners with innovative breweries July 2 and September 3 to artfully pair five seasonally inspired dishes with palette-inspiring craft beers. At each event, diners are led through a different flavor journey guided by the brewmaster in an al fresco setting overlooking the Martis Valley and Sierra Nevadas at sunset.
Beerfest & Bluegrass Festival (July 1)
For the 11th consecutive year, the Village at Northstar comes alive with jams and fresh brews. The whole family is invited to the Beerfest & Bluegrass Festival featuring live music on multiple stages, dozens of local and regional breweries for adults and special activities for kids (or simply the kids at heart).
Her Mountain (July 22-23 & August 19-20)
The Specialized Bike Academy presents two full days of female-only riding, friendship and mountain adventure. The course is comprised of small group lessons, ensuring individual attention in an environment that encourages team support. Topping off the weekend is yoga and a wine mixer intended to fuel newfound friendships among the mountain bike community.
Mountain Kids Cook-Off (August 6)
Rooted in the culinary arts, Northstar California proudly fosters children learning about healthy food and how to prepare it with the Mountain Kids Cook-Off. Executive Chef Steve Anderson hand selects the best youth chefs (by a video submission contest) to face off in front of a live audience, all in the name of Project MANA, a Tahoe-based nonprofit dedicated to hunger relief. Winners present at the Autumn Food & Wine Festival for the grand prize.
Northstar Brew Walk (September 2)
Hand selected craft brews and tapas-style snacks take over the Village at Northstar with activities for the whole family at the Northstar Brew Walk. We invite you to grab a souvenir glass, try your hand at the poker walk and play a few rounds of mini golf together.
