Here at Northstar California Resort and at areas across the Sierra Nevada, we need your help. No, this is neither a petition nor a request for donation, but rather a request for all the good juju and snow prayers (and snow dances) you can muster. That's because snow storms are forecasted to be returning to Lake Tahoe, and we couldn't be more excited!
Forecasters say the current storm will continue into Friday morning, while another storm is forecasted to roll in Sunday and stick around through the middle of next week. Projected snowfall numbers have run the gamut this week, however, we're not going to mention them, lest we jinx it. Meanwhile, just pray for snow.
As always, keep an eye on the forecast, road conditions, and Northstar's terrain and lift status. Based on early projections, Friday should be the best day to get fresh pow tracks, while most runs will be groomed for weekend corduroy Saturday and Sunday.
If you are the type of person who likes to check out the mountain before the crowds, the planets are aligning for a perfect experience this weekend. You can ski before the crowds and find all the best snow with the help of a guide long before the lifts start turning. This exclusive experience is called First Tracks, and it is happening on Sunday morning starting at 7 a.m. It's the perfect way to upgrade your Lake Tahoe weekend, and especially following fresh snowfall.
After you have skied to your heart's content, there are plenty of fun après-ski activities happening this weekend, including live music and late-afternoon s'mores in the Village. Meanwhile, check out some of the local events happening below.
